(Live Foyn Friis/Karsten Lipp/Christian Windfeld) a indie-jazz band based in Berlin, consiting the norwegian singer and songwriter Live Foyn Friis, Kasten Lipp from Berlin and the danish drummer Christian Windfeld based in Berlin. They have played some concerts around Germany, and will go to Austria and Italy during the autumn 2014, and spring 2015.

Liis is a Norwegian-German-Danish collaboration that combines the cool nordic melancholy with the hot-tempered urban buzz of big city Berlin.
It’s the sound of solitude in an empty forrest just after snowfall and of a sweaty dance floor in a funky nightclub at the same time.
But most of all, Liis is the sound of a playful energy unfolding with spellbinding singing, contagious grooves and catchy melodies. Liis merges pop, jazz and singer songwriter with ethnic music, rock and electronica into a fresh tasting musical cocktail: We call it “Liis music”! Curious?

Noch ist sie ein Geheimtipp: Live Foyn Friis verzaubert allerdings immer mehr Menschen durch die Leichtigkeit ihres Gesangs. Musikalisch verschmelzen bei der jungen Norwegerin auf ganz eigene Weise Jazz, Pop, Indie Rock und elektronische Klänge. Nicht ohne Grund wurde sie von Danish Vibes als „RisingVocal Star“ 2014 ausgezeichnet und war auf der Jazzahead 2014 in Bremen zu Gast. Hört man ihre Gänsehautstimme, so assoziiert man gerne Namen wie Björk, Tori Amos oder Adele.
Seit 2013 kooperiert sie mit dem deutschen Gitarristen und Soundtüftler Karsten Lipp. Dieser fasziniert durch sein reduziertes Spiel und seine Fähigkeit, sich in die Musik einzufügen. Die Songs der beiden erinnern kompositorisch und klangästhetisch an Indie-Pop, lassen aber trotzdem genug Raum für Improvisationen. Mit dem jungen Dänen Christian Windfeld haben sie einen sehrfeinfühligen Drummer an ihrer Seite.
