RANDERS BIG BAND VISITS RIO DE JANEIRO

In the month of October, Randers Big Band will go on tour to Rio de Janeiro.

Randers Big Band is a twenty-man band, that plays swing from the 1930s New York.
The Big Band’s history dates back to 1980 and has since undergone a major musical developments that have led to Randers Big Band now being considered one of Denmark’s best playing Big Bands. The band is known for a great sound and a very precise , vibrant and dynamic ensemble playing.

Randers Big Band’s repertoire includes everything from classic Count Basie to modern Bob Florence, and will in this tour also include the Norwegian singer and composer, Live Foyn Friis, who has roots in jazz , pop and improvised music. She has also won a Danish Music Award for best young jazz composer in 2012 and was nominated for a DMA for the album “Joy Visible”.

Randers Big Band will play a total of 7 concerts in Rio de Janeiro, including a street concert in the lively going-out district of Lapa.
